Description:
The Quipu was used by the Ancient Incans of Peru before the Spanish conquest in 1560AD. The quipu is thought to have been used to record important numeric information such as dates, times and categorical information. This replica quipu was made using cotton yarn and brown twine. The methods undertaken to create the replica was the traditional method of twisting the yarn to create thicker cords and tied together using hitch knots.
