Our Project
This is an exhibition that showcases both the material culture of the past and the creativity of current university students.
These unique objects were all created by first year students taking ARCH 1001 Introduction to Archaeology.
The exhibition website and photography have been produced by ARCH 8402 and ARCH2208 The Museum students.
Our Aim
This online museum gives everyone the opportunity to see what archaeology students at Flinders University really get up to!
Each year students in ARCH 1001 are asked to research and replicate an artefact from any of the cultures or time periods covered in the lectures (so anything from about 5 million years ago to the recent, historical past!), so that they can learn something about how archaeologists interpret behaviour from artefacts.
The Exhibition
This year we thought it would be great to diplay the results of this assignment and to provide The Musuem students with the opportuntity to put into practice the theories of collection management, curation and interpretation.
