Ankh
The Ankh is the Egyptian Hieroglyph that reads Life. It is thought to represent eternal life and balance in nature. Common in almost all Egyptian tombs its origin is unclear and is thought to be one of Egypt's oldest religious symbols.
Scarab Beetle
A popular amulet among the ancient Egyptians, the Scarab was a representation of rebirth. Fashioned after the Dung Beetle ( Scarabidae), who lays its eggs in a ball of dung. This was viewed by the Egyptians as life coming out of death. The funerary scarabs was believed to command the heart not to give evidence against the person when being judged for entrance into the afterlife.
