Description:
These dolls were found in Haiti and are part of the Voudou religious tradition. They date to around the sixteenth century AD and this doll is constructed of ordinary household objects such as rosemary, twine, cloth and feathers. The twine binds the rosemary in a cruciform shape and then the black cloth is used to 'dress' the doll, then eyes made of white fabric are placed into the doll's face and it was topped with chicken feathers.
