The spear tip replica comes from the East Coast hunting spears and was carved over a number of days and the rock accompanying is a broken fragment of the stone tool used to work the wood. This replica demonstrates the difficulty in recreating the past in the practice of experimental archaeology and in producing a replica using traditional methods to produce a functional and full length, balanced hunting spear.
