The Greenstone axe is one of the legendary hand-to-hand combat tools used by the Maori people of New Zealand in ancient art of warfare. Over the years, they are handed down from generation to generation along with the vicious stories that go with them. Detailed designs in greenstone were also used to mark prominent moments in the life of the Maori.
